How does hypnosis work?
Hypnosis is not magic - it is science!
It works by slowing down your brainwaves - similar to when you are in deep sleep.
It is different from being asleep, because you are still fully aware of what goes on around you.
During hypnosis you just have an incredible ability to connect with you subconscious mind.
What does it feel like?
Everybody has their own unique experience. Some people feel a floating sensation.
Others might feel sleepy, but most people feel relaxed and at ease.
It is most important to know that how you feel is not an indicator of how effective it is.
Regardless of what it feels like - it is working.
Can I get “stuck” in hypnosis?
No! That’s is just not possible.
Being in hypnosis is really just a slowing of the brainwaves. You have complete control the entire time.
You can talk, move your body, get a tissue, even get up and leave (I had clients who had to stop to go to the loo - we just continue where we left off).
What if I don’t “go deep” enough?
Don’t worry about how deep you go. It is really not important. The depth of trance is not linked to results at all.
Just tell yourself the truth - “This is working” and it will absolutely work.
Just know that it is effective.
When will I start to see changes?
Every person will experience change differently. In Rapid Transformational Therapy, we normally see any of the following three:
Immediate: You feel a massive shift right away - immediate changes in your physiology, thoughts and behaviours in the session or straight after.
Incremental: You see consistent shifts every day, or over time.
Retroactive: You don’t see the shifts right away and then one day you suddenly look back and see all of the things that are different in your life.
What if I go back to scenes that are
painful or scary?
With any scene - whether a general scene, painful or scary, you are only reviewing it. If you therefore go back to scenes related to abuse or trauma, it is important to remember that you are not reliving that scene, you are simply reviewing it and that you are safe.
The most significant benefit is that you will be looking at that scene with the wisdom and knowledge of an adult.
I will also support you and create a safe space for you to express your emotions and heal - you will be okay
What if I need or want another session?
RTT is a powerful technique, designed to create big changes in your life. The number of sessions is really dependent on the nature and impact of the issue.
Most clients need only one session (and 21 days after the session), but other clients might need more.
Our approach is to ensure lasting transformation, so we can review at any point and decide if you need more sessions or not.
